Department of Applied Sciences

 Applied Sciences Department draws its faculty from a pool of dedicated academicians who aim at making the burgeoning technocrats well resourced and well-versed in their prospective professional careers. The department strives to incorporate a wide range of subjects under its purview-Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English and Communication skills all of which contribute to bring out a skilled technocrat.

Department of Architecture Asstt.

Three year Diploma in Architecture Asstt aims at developing and further polishing the artistic skills of students in conceiving ideas and giving a concrete shape to those ideas in the form of drawings and finally in the form of buildings of variegated nature. The process also necessitates to make effective liason with various experts from related specialized filed. It enables the students in designing the space not only functionally but beautifully also.

Department of Commercial Arts

 Commercial Art is more concerned with the creative side of advertising. Commercial Art can no longer be studied or practiced in isolation at the drawing board. A student or practitioner must know why he is doing a design, and in a particular way and for what purchase. Knowledge of the principals and practice of advertising would enable a commercial artist to have a more practical and result oriented in his work.

Department of Computer Engg / IT

  Students after completing three year diploma get jobs as Data Entry Operator, computer lab technicians and also various BPO's. Students also opt for higher studies.

Department of Electronics and Communication Engg.

Electronics and Communication Engg. department is the prestigious department of Govt. Polytechnic College for Girls, Patiala. This department provides three year diploma course after matriculation and has total 60 seats. The department has well equipped labs and workshop and a computer lab. After completing the diploma, majority of the students go for higher studies and others opt for different fields including research and design, repair and maintenance, production and testing.

Modern Office Practice

MOP is a three year diploma course with an intake of 40 and the entry qualification is 10+2 or intermediate exam or first year of 3 year degree course or 3yr degree examination. This diploma has been granted equivalence to first degree (Graduation) for the purpose of higher studies subject to the condition of passing the subject of Punjabi. The course contents comprise three major components-computer applications, stenography and office management.

Medical Lab Technology

Medical Technologies are behind the scene works in medical profession. They are the backbone of medical profession as their reports and diagnosis gives tremendous assistance to the medical practioners. MLT says a critical. Role in Medical therapeutic and diagnosis fields in the treatment prophylaxis or mitigation of disease The increased demand has resulted in the introduction of more sophisticated and specialized procedures, automation, computerization industries have prayed a principle role as a tool in bringing newer diagnostic tests that were not possible before.Having the potential of being appreciable in diverse array of fields, we can expect tremendous growth opportunities in medical Lab Technology filed in near future.  

 Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences

The pharmaceutical profession has shown phenomenal growth . The increase in consumer activism has been making the medical profession to rely more on the expertise of the pharmacist. The pharmacy professionals are not only absorbed in research and development of pharmaceuticals, but also in production technology, analysis, marketing, and hospitals, which helps the pharmaceutical industry to cope up with the demands of the expanding health care services.
